Heids

A great woman of God

It was the last day in the office of this woman who's faithful
I never thought this could be this painful
Our eyes still hurt and it was so wonderful
Oh! At the same time, I'm sad and grateful

Sad that I'll cease to be with her everyday
Grateful that our friendship happened anyway
I'll try to be happy in my classes today
Knowing that hugging her's just a prayer away

I'll miss her hands on my hair and face
Her make up skill, my waterfall and all other braids
I'll certainly miss all her encouragements
and of how confident she is that our needs will be met

What a privilege to witness her servant heart
I can declare that she's really set apart
I can't help but ask "Why is it Dad that we have to part?"
He answered with a comfort that in Him,
we'll never be apart

Heids

I'll always admire how you listen to our God
I know you'll continue to shine for our Dad
Your strength will still be found on the One who shed His blood
May you just always be secured in His great love

One Saturday Morning and Words of affirmation

One Saturday morning.
Last hours with the sunflowers.
Lovely moments with a dear friend.

My heart is just so full  with words that I'm hearing from other people these days. Words that I never thought I would hear and I'm just overwhelmed.  Let me document them with the pictures that we took in UP one Saturday morning.

"Teacher, ang ganda mo ngumiti". - Czyrish, 9

"Ycah, thank you sa blog mo about sunflowers!!"  - Ate Jen

"Ang fashionista mo talaga , Teacher!" - Erika
Parang ang bagay sa 'yo ng mga sinusuot mo." - Gelyn

"Teacher, ang blooming mo. Sino yan aside kay God?" - Yvette

That's one of the hardest questions to answer. Wala namang ibang sagot eh.

More than what other people could say, I'm eternally grateful for our God who just lavish me with the greatest affirmation: His life, for my life. HUHUHUHU.

Is this the end of us?

After almost 8 years of living, studying, worshipping, believing, fighting,  reminiscing, laughing, cooking, eating, shopping (bargaining), singing, praying  and dreaming together. Is this the end?

Things become even more meaningful when you know there's  a possibility that it's the last. I just remembered, yesterday was  Jenny's  last day in our boarding house and who knows? Maybe the last day of of living  in the same room, in the same house? Ah, my heart.

It's not her birthday but I just want to honor her for being a friend everyone could ask for - selfless. I remember praying as a child, I really really wanted to have a best friend (one that you can be with in any season and one that would just listen) and that's  what I found in her. God gave her and I always say to her that she's such an evidence that I am indeed  BLESSED and FAVORED!!!

Oh memories rushing in!

When she let me stay with her in her uncle's house in Tondo.
How she cooked adobong galunggong. Nung Deep Sea pa yung ulam namin or kaya hati kami sa isang ulam.
When she comfort me when I cried  nung nag ta tatype ako sa cp nya ng mahabang document tapos biglang nabura!
When we first heard the Gospel!
When I did One 2 One with her and eventually her Victory Weekend.
When we discovered Arce Dairy's Avocado Ice cream and all our Friday nights.
When we watched movies ng sabay sa makahiwalay na smartphone para kunwari sabay kami nanonood.

And of course everytime she'll like my "luto" and say " ang sarap Ycs!!!!" My love languages are acts of service and  then words fo affirmation kaya naman , feeling ko acts of service  nya for me tuwing kakainin nya ang luto ko. hihihi. As always, She's my number 3 fan.

I sighed. Waah. Am gonna miss her. Kahit na alam ko sabay pa din kami makakapag service the Victory Baliwag mga twice  a month. Hehe.  Ang drama ko lang.

She was there in black with last words in the room we shared. She said "Magkikita pa tayo, Ycs."

She simply knows I need assurance.

Is this the end of us? Nope. It's just the start of the new season.

Mt. Pamitinan

One day I will climb mountains and shout "Thank You for Your love Jesus!" :)

This was my declaration in this blog and I'm really ecstatic to say that it already happened last Saturday!

A week before this climb, hindi pa talaga nag si-sink in sa akin na I'm gonna climb. I mean, as in hindi pa ganun ka giddy na.. this is it! Finally! Yung dream magiging reality na oh! oh! Because honestly, this is a huge thing for me. I was in a state of shock pa siguro a week before or while my friends are planning it months ago.  Minsan hindi na lang talaga  ako makapaniwala na eto na yun. Pero nung the day before, hala, eto na. I felt really excited especially when I went to Divi (Divisoria) with my friend  Ana  to buy the things that we need, like:

Jellyace (lots of it!)
Chocolates (flat tops! Yum!)
Water (wow dun pa talaga bumili eh noh?) (I bought 1.5 L of water and 500 ml of Pocari Sweat ;))
Gloves (yes, because it's rocky -- Php 25)
Cap (Php 100)
Arm band  (para mukhang mountaineer talaga --Php 50)

Now, remembering that it already happened and what actually happened make me so in awe pa din talaga.

Here we go! November 14, 2015 Saturday.

I talk to Daddy (God) first when I woke up He gave me these words:

They went right into the house where he was staying, and Jesus asked them, "Do you believe I can make you see?" "Yes, Lord," they told him, "we do."   (Matthew 9:28)

Do you believe I can make you see [the summit]?

Yes, Lord!!!

The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. (Habakkuk 3:19)

I am claiming this! He is my strength! I am surefooted! I will tread upon the heights!

Next, I did some stretching and practiced going up and down the stairs 10x. :)
Then take a bath and meet Ana.

We went to Jolllibee Farmers, ate breakfast and bought our lunch there with Arlene.

Rode the UV Express going to Eastwood Montalban Rizal -- the terminal is just next to the Jollibee Farmers.  (Php 50) One more time, Eastwood Montalban Rizal hah. Not Eastwood QC. ;)

We met Gabby and her workmate Micah and Luke there at Eastwood Montalban.

We then rode a tricycle going to Brgy. Wawa ( Php 60 isang ride ng tricycle, so kung 6 kayo, tig Php 10)

Find a Tour Guide. (nandun lang sila)

Register in DENR and Brgy. (You'll pay  Php 2 here)

Yun nah! Akyat na. Pero picture muna. Haha!

Nagsisimula pa lang medyo challenging na. Here I realized na totoo yung mga narinig at nabasa ko na depende din talaga sa mindset ang pag-akyat. If you really want to be in the summit. Kakayanin mo. One step at a time.

I stayed near our tour guide going up  so that he can teach me first hand how to overcome the rocks! Na inspire ako na kaya nya, so kakayanin ko din. Natuwa ako kasi parang ganun din kay Daddy, He already knows the way and tuturuan ka Nya how you can overcome.

Nung nasa kalahati na kami. I'm amazed na may nagtitinda ng palamig dun! Ang cool.

Then yun, sabak ulit. This time. MORE challenging na ang trail.. ang mga bato ganyan. Pero mas maganda na din ang view. OUCH! Nauntog din nga pala ako. Watch out din sa ulo paakyat, hindi lang sa paa ang tingin.

Bato pa more. Picture pa more. Strength pa more Daddy!

May makakasalubong ka din or malalagpasan ng ibang mountaineers. It's really encouraging.

YUN!! After 2 hours I think,  nakarating din sa "summit- summitan" yung lugar na malapit sa summit haha. We took loads of pictures there while waiting for our turn sa summit (maliit lang ang summit ng pamitinan, so per group lang ang akyat dito). Here we talked to other tour guides and learned more about Montalban, the mountains, the legend of Bernardo Carpio.. etc. It was  somehow fun waiting.

IN THE SUMMIT.

Whoo! Amazing! Ang saya lang. Hahaha. We did it! God made me see it! I was surefooted!

Sobrang gusto ko na isigaw agad agad yung "Thank You for Your Love, Jesus!!!"  But I was  little hindered kasi may ibang tayo sa baba na nakatingin sa amin. Waah. Will I do it? Of course. I WILL. I will not be ashamed!

"Thank You for Your Love, Jesus!!!"

YES. I DID IT!! Declaration come to pass all because of His grace!

Sa summit din, ang cloudy lang kahit na bandang 12 noon kami nandon. Sobrang favored and sabi nga ni Gabby, sobrang ramdam namin ang Kanyang presence!!!

GOING DOWN DOWN.

It's more challenging and painful for me. Nakakanginig talaga ng tuhod.
Hungry and all. We decided to eat lunch sa bilihan ng mga palamig na pinaggalingan namin kanina.

Then baba ulit. Nadudulas dulas na ko dito. Haha.

WAWA Dam.

We saw BIG rocks, the Dam, balsa and the river. It's nice and pretty! Picture picture!

We then prepared to go home. Haayyyy. Totoo, it's not the mountain that I conqured, but myself on that day. Amazing Grace!

We bid good bye to Kuya Jimmy ,  took the tricyle again to Eastwood Montalban  and  then the  UV Express going to Cubao. :)

Gusto ko ulit isigaw:

"Thank You for Your Love, Jesus!!!"

'til our next climb!

P.S.

Thank you Gabbski for leading and organizing! We're blessed!

New things Sprung up

New Thing 1: Gabby in VSJDM

Gabby (my sister in Christ since college) announced that  this year is her last year in Ubelt (because we think that God is calling her in Victory San Jose Del Monte). And that is the start that things are actually changing around me now. It's honestly hard for me. Well, not really hard but a little painful.

I could still vividly remember  our early journey in the faith. We served in the same ministry together (Ushering) and as we serve, we experienced being in Ubelt for the 3PM, 5PM and 7 PM services on a Friday. I miss being with her at the back waiting for our time to walk and collect the tithes. Our little kwentuhan here and there while waiting. Attending services together, reserving seats for each other, attending Leaders' Convergence or Discipleship events, praying together in PUP etc. Though I know she will always be there. May mababago pa din at may nagbabago na.

Nonetheless, I'm so so happy and so so proud of her. It's amazing to witness a portion of how God is molding her. Her heart for the youth, her heart of praying for other people, her heart to just really Honor God and make disciples. Grabe. I just believe that her heart and faith will bring a great impact  in VSJDM.

I'll just really miss her but I know she's just a text  or fb messenger away.

New Thing 2: Doing One to One again

I can't remember the last time maybe it's been a year and a half that I'm not doing it. Finally, this faith goal has been answered! And this time, it's unlike the ones that I did before. She's older than me, she's not from PUP, she's not a student ...etc. I can really feel and see the new season in the area of discipleship and I declare more. More. Not just more women to lead but more of molding in my part since whoa. Hindi biro ang bawat soul, bawat prinsesa na ibibigay at binibigay ng Panginoon. We can't  take this lightly. Grace is gonna pour out. His Holy Spirit will just really use me to minister.

New Thing 3: Victory Group for VG Leaders (part-time Coach? haha)

Really scarry. But I'll say it again, "Hindi biro ang bawat soul, bawat prinsesa na ibibigay at binibigay ng Panginoon. We can't  take this lightly. Grace is gonna pour out. His Holy Spirit will just really use me to minister. " New Spiritual daughters, new struggles, new encouragements, new love that I'm gonna give away. I was really nervous but God just encouraged me through the life of Gideon that He will defeat our Midianites too! Amen! I'm lovin' preparing now now for our VG. I think I'll really grow as I minister. Help Daddy!!!!

New Thing 3: Daughter's Fruitfulness

It's my dream to become a Mom and also to become a Grand-mom. It's lovely though that it's somehow happening now. Every time na may ipapakilala ang mga Daughters ko na mga ni ri-reach out nila or wina wan two wan. I really feel kilig. What-a-privilege indeed and I'm the happiest when my Daughters get to fulfill what God wants thejm to do. It's not out of obligation but out of overflowing love for the lost. Ito siguro and favorite new thing ko.

New Thing 4:  High School Friends in Victory

Emat, R-jay, Jenny, Rosette and Me. Who would've that we'll be in one church now and that we'll be prayer partners? Amazing God of Wonders (#princessinawe) I declare na hindi lang kaming lima ang ma eencounter ni God sa section namin nung High School but EVERYONE. Oh may He use us mightily.

New Thing 5: Singles Camp

Hehehehehehe. No Comment (na mahaba)  muna. Sa August pa ito but this is really something NEW to me. First Time it is. Feeling nasa Singles Ministry na talaga ako. I'm standing firm in His promise that I will be able for camp safely and there will be showers of blessings. :)

That's it folks. I feel so overwhelmed sometimes being in the midst of the changes and new challenges but I know He's holding me and He's the anchor for my Soul. Every time I would think of His Name, feeling ko kakayanin ko talaga. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

'til next season!

Gilas ni Lord

I always want to write about the joy of Discipleship. I have moments when I think "I will definitely write about this". Like during the Victory Weekends of the girls I'm leading. Being the participant of Victory Weekend is a whole lot of wonderful experience itself  BUT SENDING someone there is another! It's magical. Iba talaga ang joy ko. hahaha! Anyway, I will still fail to write about that,  maybe next time (ayan procrastinating). Hahaha.Actually, today I'm gonna write about one means of  Discipleship, which is the "Inviting to the Service" part.

I've been praying for this friend for almost 3 years now to attend the Youth Service. 3 years. I remember it started during the "Game Plan" series of Victory U-belt. The Pastor usually use basketball as an illustration. Thus, I can't help but be reminded of this friend of mine. He's into basketball so sobrang I can't help thinking and imagining that he's there with me listening to the same message.  Ayun, I invited him and I was somehow rejected by chances or reasons or excuses or time or whatever. Three years passed.

I was surprised though that one night while having dinner with our other friends, He simply told me  "parang gusto kong I try victory jan..". (Poker face and pa cool look na parang wala lang) I said,  "cge one time, tara" (or maybe something like this lang). Hindi ko na talaga maalala since sobrang saya ko na inside. Nakailang talon siguro ako sa isip at puso ko. Yes!

After some weeks of struggle again because of the unmatched schedules, last night was the fulfillment.  I was so nervous and all. We agreed that I will wait for them and reserve seats. The Victory Worship was there and 30 minutes na silang late (my friend and his friends)! I didn't want them to miss that EPIC praise and worship so sobrang kaba talaga. Nakailangang surrender ako kay Lord sa kung ano ang will Nya for that night. Great thing too that I'm with my Team 4 family (Ate Yvonne and Kelly) at that time. Of course I can't disciple men so sobrang blessing si Kelly (yes, he's a guy) I really pray that it's the start.

They came and I'm so glad that he brought 3 other men with him. Yung dalawa, first time din! We laughed together, we listened to the message together. I'm so happy that Ptr. Julius Fabregas was so cool! He talked about basketball in his preaching! So napaka nostalgic talaga. It was like yesterday that I'm imagining my friend to be there and now, he's here! He's here! (yan yung thoughts ko at that time). Whoa! And during the altar call, one of them raised his hand! Amazing talaga! Parang pinag pawisan pa nga ata ang kanilang mga mata eh. (not that sure) ;))))

My friend then texted me after we part ways "Thanks... sobrang blessed ng experience!"

Because of this I learned na  don't be afraid  ma reject in inviting someone in a service..one day they will say din  "Sige na nga..matagal mo na ko iniiinvite eh".  Yun #boom moment na yun.

Discipleship starts in a genuine concern (that is planted by God).

Napaka Gilas talaga ni Lord. :) 3 points! :)

Day 3 and The rest

Day 3

During the third day of prayer and fasting, I failed to write anything! :( Hmm..what happened that day? I think I was so excited of course (because the next day, it'll be Jo's Victory Weekend)  but I think I get to pray for my friend's faith goals as well. I just realized na... gusto ko din ng mga faith goals nila? LOL. I mean, I also want it for them so I'm really expectant. Amazing future ahead of us all. Lalo na ang aking friend na si Gabby, gonna marry a Church-planter eh. #declaration ;)

The rest

I'm learning a lot really from simple happenings:

Praying

  • Like when I prayed for a friend during the weekend. It's obvious that something's troubling her. She's not that "in-the-mood" so I was just happy when she asked me to pray for her. While praying, I realized that there's really a tendency to rely on myself than on the Holy Spirit. So always be reminded  na ang goal is not na manghula hula ka ng ipapagpray para ma meet mo yung ineexpect ng tao,  trying to perform blah blah para lang mabigyan ng justification yung title na "intercessor". Be truly led!

Speaking in Tongues

  • Pwede kang makiweekend. What I mean is. You can also be baptised with the Holy Spirit and have the manifestation kahit na hindi ikaw ang participant. Yep, my friend spoke in Tongues while ministering. Amazing. Hindi lang sa weekend mo sya pwedeng matanggap. ;)

Ministering
  • During the orientation for the ministry time, I re-learn loads of things too na pwedeng  i-apply as I make disciple:
-It's not about me, it's about the Word of God.
-Affirm the truth in their lives and truth comes from the Bible (basa basa din ha?)
-John 8:32 "Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."
-Hanapin ang root ng struggle. We need to uproot that!
-Identify the lie, then banggain ng truth (ooops but don't forget, speak the truth in love

Being a Friend
  • Be a friend. Listen. Be there. A friend called me and she's crying due to  work problems and dilemmas. You know those times na talaga namang gusto mong iligtas yung friend mo from their heartaches and trials? I felt that.  I hope I could be wiser and just say the right words para lang may ma realize sya or something para maging ok na sya. Pero yun nga, at the end of the day, listen and be there. Above all, what we could do is point them to the One na may magagwa sa situation nila. To the One who loves them far more than we do. So there. Pray with them and for them.
Family
  • WE VALUE FAMILY. FAMILY SALVATION! Make disciples in  my family! Last Sunday was my brother's birthday! I gave him a shirt with the words "SALVATION IS FOUND IN CHRIST ALONE". I think he likes it kahit na medyo malaki sa kanya. Hehe. Anyway, the highlight was when I  prayed for him while we are biking! Imagine. Wala talagang pinipiling sitwasyon. :) I can just tell that God is at work in my brother. He longs for Him. Lalo na after watching the movie "God's not Dead". I really pray and come on, I DECLARE na MAGIGING MEN OF GOD ang mga kapatid ko! In Jesus' name! :) Now I'm planning to give him Ardy Roberto's Real Men are POGI. Next time, Bible naman. :)

Leading

  • For Daddy Talks, He  read my thoughts: siguro mas mag gro-grow sila kung iba yung leader nila..kasi ganito lang ako.blah blah blah..

Pero eto yung sagot Nya  in Matthew 14:15-18 :

15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

18 “Bring them here to me,”

Kahit gaano pa kaliit ang maibibigay ko asa leader, ibibigay ko muna kay Jesus yun then Sya na ang bahalang mag multiply. :)

Random yet I really treasure these things :)
