Shorter Lay Down Story

January 13, 2020 was a significant day for me, following the Taal Volcano eruption. A simple request from a friend, Jayson, to visit our small group leader's newborn baby led to an unexpected turn of events.

While at work, Jayson asked me to wear a mask for the visit. I didn't have one, but he assured me he had extras. Later, plans changed, but Jayson insisted we still meet, hinting at a surprise.

As I headed to meet him, a taxi with a verse caught my eye, Ecclesiastes 3:11a, "He has made everything beautiful in its time." It stirred a mix of emotions in me.

When we met, Jayson handed me masks and a box of dried fruits as a pasalubong from Cebu. Then, he gave me an envelope with a letter expressing his desire to take our friendship to the next level. It was a moment of shock and disbelief.

Despite my surprise, I managed to ask for clarification. Jayson shared his intentions and vision for us, including seeing me as his future wife.

Overwhelmed, I needed time to process and pray. Eventually, I agreed to enter into courtship with him.

Reflecting on our journey, I realized how God had been writing our story all along, shaping us for each other. Despite my initial doubts and struggles, I found comfort in Ecclesiastes 3:11a, trusting in God's timing and plan for us.
